A little cartoon I made last year! 🌸😊🌈💓✨💚🎶🌹🍄
What can we do with grief?
Break our hearts over it every day?
No, my heart belongs to me only
Love made me realize this
Our hearts have to be whole
To resonate with another

It is of no surprise that the energy of Kundalini, a cosmic life force energy, often laying dormant in the form of a coiled serpent at the base of our spine, is thought of as a feminine energy, Sakti. This energy is revitalizing and forces us to see ourselves as we really are, to be able to truly love. When we are living in the mind, interwebbed in the drama of daily life, repressing feelings, unconscious of how our actions affect others, oblivious to nature – focused on competition, winning, and consuming instead of loving, nurturing, solving, creating – our energy vortexes (called chakras) become blocked. These blockages disturb the natural energetic balance in our body and make us look outwardly for stability through substance abuse, food, parasitic relationships, the need for praise and validation and other disempowering and numbing behaviors.
What does it mean to awaken the Kundalini, the feminine energy within us? Our body has an energetic grid system that is made when the life-force energy is flowing in and out of (at least) seven chakras, energy hubs concentrated around specific organs (except the seventh chakra which lies on top of our head). Each chakra corresponds to certain human characteristics and it is associated with different colors, sounds, senses, animals, planets, astrological signs, elements, and organs. For example, the heart chakra is associated with the color green, serenity, creativity, the planet Venus, being unstuck, air, the signs of Taurus and Libra, touch, the sound Yam, and the black antelope (if you would like to learn more about chakras and the Kundalini, the book Kundalini: The Arousal of the Inner Energy by Ajit Mookerjee is a great resource). Once these chakras are unblocked, the Kundalini energy can now pass through them, activating and integrating them into our body’s energetic grid. The Kundalini energy also synchronizes the chakras so that each can communicate with the other freely and efficiently.
The Kundalini energy balances the two polarities by waking up and merging with the male energy so that the female and the male are expressed within us in their most divine balance. When the integration and synchronization processes are completed, we will intuitively know how to use each chakra as needed. Living from the heart will then become a new default way of living, love energy will flow freely. The heart chakra energy is the energy of balance in which earthly existence is possible but only because we start treating the earth with respect that it deserves. Not only us but the whole world could shift into this new higher vibration through the Kundalini awakening. We would finally become whole and feel empowered, and we would gravitate toward joy rather than destruction. We would start doing what we love, have positive relationships, follow our bliss. We would be more intuitive and emotionally intelligent, clear-thinking and creative, and we would be able to manifest our desires very quickly. We would stop pursuing the things that don’t feel good to us. We would be able to accomplish anything we feel called to do and we would have healthy discernment about our outward actions – how we treat each other and the world.
I have been dreaming of herbs lately. Angelica, fennel, and mullein have appeared in name and shape. It seems that they want to be seen and heard by me, to guide me, to help me toward optimal health. I would love to plant them this spring! Which herbs have been your guiding spirits?
We are constantly co-creating with the universe. Before we are born, we agree with the universe on what our purpose in life will be but we forget it when we are born so that our life has that crucial component of free will. The universe helps us remember our purpose by guiding us using signs and synchronicity. The trick is to listen to the universe by living consciously.
Interestingly, we are often resistant to our purpose and we don’t live consciously enough to notice the guidance. The universe reminds us in the form of unsettling events such as an illness or a heartbreak. Yes, we can be so oblivious to how we are treating ourselves that life itself has to reflect back to us the damage we are putting ourselves through. In these situations, it feels like there are higher forces looking out for our well-being – we are gently guided along until a time comes for the universe to give us a harder push.
It is not that the universe judges our actions as negative and does things to punish us, it is loving and compassionate in its essence. It merely pinches us so that we can wake up and realize what we are doing. This pinch is perhaps the best thing that can happen to us because we are often too slow in learning our lessons. The aversion to pain we associate with these experiences aids us in our expansion so we can remember our life’s purpose.
To love the uniqueness of oneself and to express it wholeheartedly and with joy is such a divine vision to behold. We write our own unique life stories; no one is preventing us from doing anything, it is only our desire to feel accepted and safe that makes us stop in our tracks when we just want to expand past the speed of light. We have to break our limiting beliefs in order to reveal what lies beneath the hard shell.
We don’t have to proscribe to any specific beliefs…we can be guided by our inner intuition of what is right for us, what is our truth, what makes us passionate about living. This way, we can be a unique individual contributing to the beauty of the universe in our own special way. Listening to the judgments of others or trying to fit in could be comforting in the short run but in the long run, can contribute to illness and other crises if we aren’t living in our authenticity. The world is also robbed of somebody who could change it for the better.
